Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 whole fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  • Add the sugar to a large cup or bowl with pour spout. Roll the three mint leaves with clean hands to release the oils and drop in the sugar. Set aside.
  • Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Carefully pour over the sugar and mint mixture. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  • Let cool to room temperature. Add to an airtight jar until ready to use.

Notes

To avoid mold, be sure to make sure the storing container is clean.
Avoid letting the mint leaves sit in syrup mixture more than 3o minutes. The syrup will become bitter.
