Ingredients

  • 12 apples Rockit Apples washed/dried, stems removed
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup (light)
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup red cinnamon candies (Red Hots)
  • wooden sticks

Instructions

  • Lightly spritz a sheet of parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Insert a stick into the tops of the itty bitty apples.
  • Combine the water, corn syrup, and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • When the mixture reaches 250° on a candy thermometer, stir in the red hot cinnamon candies until they dissolve. Continue to cook the candy until it reaches 302° and remove from the heat immediately.
  • Using the stick as a handle, quickly dip the itty bitty apples into the hot mixture and give it a twirl. Let the excess hot syrup drip back into pot and set it on the prepared parchment paper.
  • Work quickly repeating with the remaining apples.
  • Allow the Itty Bitty Red Hot Candied Apples to cool at room temperature.
  • Best enjoyed within 24 hours.

Notes

Set the apples on a mini muffin paper and wrapped them for party favors. They of course would be just lovely on a pretty silver tray.
