Ingredients
  

Famous Green Jacket Salad Dressing

  • 1/2 cup olive oil (It is rumored that the original recipe used Wesson Soybean Oil.)
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Lawry's seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (crushed to release flavor)

Famous Green Jacket Salad Mix

  • 3 heads of romaine lettuce or 2 small heads iceberg lettuce (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 cups red cherry tomatoes (sliced in half)
  • 3/4 cup green onions (roots removed and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 cup pita chips (broken into bite sized pieces)
  • pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, seasoned salt, and oregano in a small bowl until well combined.
  • Toss the lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, green onions, and parmesan in a salad bowl. Just before serving, give the Green Jacket Dressing another stir and drizzle onto the Green Jacket Salad. Add the pita chips and gently toss to coat.

Note: The original recipe called for Shoney's Seasoning. Tough Shoney's has since closed, you can still purchase "Shoney's Big Boy Seasoning" here.
